Any one have any experience or input on intex or bestway pools? Ok so this is the deal i’m looking at around 8000 to maybe 15,000 probably no more 20,000 gallons max pools. Talked to a local pool place and they said for $4000 they would level the ground, install, and fill the pool. This doesn’t seem like to bad of a price for all that. I want to put a deck around the pool. What I’m up in the air about is I can get an intex pool for a little over $1100. I know this type of pool isn’t going to last as long. We live in Wisconsin and I’m not going to take an 8000 gallon pool down every year. Our yard is an ok size but not the biggest. The intex pool would fit our yard better and be easier to put a deck around but I’m wondering how long it would last? If it’s only going to last 2 or 3 years then I’ll probably just go with the pool place. Does anyone have any long term experience with these pools? This is the pool i’m looking at

I have heard that the legs of intex pools rust after a while but I was thinking I could coat or spray them to help protect them.

Yeah was going going to put the legs on those concert blocks they use for stepping stones. Looks like it comes with the sand filter as well.

You have to run electrical straight to the breaker box. That's another $900 plus.

To be honest with you, that looks like junk. We have a 30 ft round above ground and I wish I would have done an inground. Deck around pool won't be cheap, either. If you don't have kids I wouldn't bother. That's the only reason we got one.

We have an unground - brother in law has an above ground - it hurt the resale value of their house - and the expense of putting it in, with the deck, and the pool - and then needing to replace the pool was high. Then the people that wanted to buy the house didnt want the pool - so that was taken out - then they didn't want a deck circling an empty hole - so - that was removed - it all cost more than an unground - which has (usually) no advantage to selling a house - but also no disadvantage. JMO

The pump that comes with the pool is standard 120 with a built in gfci so it doesn’t need to be ran to the breaker.

That’s the main reason I’m doing it. My son loves water and swimming.

It's hard to justify that hefty price tag on an inground when you live in the Midwest and only use it for 3 months out of the year.

Then the people that wanted to buy the house didnt want the pool - so that was taken out - then they didn't want a deck circling an empty hole - so - that was removed - it all cost more than an unground - which has (usually) no advantage to selling a house - but also no disadvantage. I get what your saying but we have no intention of moving and If we do I’ll take the pool out but I’m sure by then it will probably be gone anyway.

I could also go with a metal above ground oval pool that’s about the same size but $1000 more. My parents had an above ground pool and it lasted a long time.

We have that exact pool (6000g). This is either the 4th or 5th summer with it and it still looks like new... grandkids are in it now!

Easy 2 man set up and take down each winter. Would absolutely buy again, even when it eventually wears out!

Previously had steel above ground pool that was replaced after 20 yrs... can’t install inground because of town ‘set back’ requirements.

Me either, which is why I don’t have a pool of any kind. The costs creep up like crazy. Is there a waterpark in the area? For the price of an above-ground pool, you can score a good deal on a used jet-ski and trailer, and season passes to a waterpark until your kid is out of the house!

Edit: Jet-ski and Waterpark to be used separately....... not sure what you crazy northerners will try!

I am leaning towards this pool. Easy to set up decent size. A deck around it will help protect it and make it look better as well. I’m sure the other pool would last longer but I don’t know if I could install it. This is the other type of pool.
