I admire your dedication! What we do for our fishy pets...

Well it took almost 5 hours but I finally have her in a qt tank. I remembered that I had a 15 gallon tank I used to use as a sump so I set that up, the only things I had to buy were the medicine and the live rock. I did the 90 minute bath in the api fungus cure and her face already looks a little better. Should I follow the recommended dosage and instructions with the triple sulfa?

Yes, I would. And keep an eye on ammonia, did you happen to get an ammonia alert badge? I should have mentioned that before...if not, just be sure to test frequently. Especially if she shows any signs of distress.

I didn't get one but, because of the small water volume and fresh setup, I was planning on testing each day just to make sure everything stays stable and safe. I also used the filter pad I already had in the sump of my established tank after rinsing it in tank water. I'll keep you updated on her progress!

Another question; if ammonia starts to build up can I use any products to neutralize it that won't adversely affect the antibiotics?

Waterchanges will become quite common

You can use prime with antibiotics, just not prime with copper.

If you do decide to do a water change outside of any noted in the instructions that’s fine, just re-dose the new salt water according to it’s volume. I prefer using water-changes over neutralizing products personally, so this is what I do.

The thing I was worried about with water changes is diluting the antibiotics and making them ineffective

What I do is I do the same calculated WC every 3 days (5G for me) which in turn is half a packet of GC. This way my meds don’t dilute and I reap the benefits of the WC

You’re welcome! Glad she’s looking better!
