Sorry for the rambling post but I am trying to troubleshoot why I am going through a bunch of BRS mixed bed DI resin recently.
I have a BRS 150GPD 6 stage unit.
I replaced all the filters and the 2 canisters of DI resin back in December. I check the DI about every 2 weeks to make sure I am ok.
About a month ago I notice that both DI containers had changed colors and my output was 15 on the tds meter. I refilled the DI resin and within 2 weeks the Di was spent again.
I then replaced all my filters ( using 2 universal carbon blocks 1 micron) and the resin a week and a half ago. Today one and 1/2 containers of DI resin are spent.
I have purchased an additional canister with tds meter built in plus the individual BRS pro series resin. The new canister came with mixed bed resin so I plumbed it in. I am not using the Pro series resin yet.
So the numbers I am seeing are as follows:
TDS at tap is 464 Yea AZ water.
TDS after the RO unit is 15
TDS after the three DI resins is 0.
My local water company uses Chlorine and Chlorine Dioxide. Chloramine is not listed.
I am going through about 120 gallons of RO water plus ATO over about 2 weeks.
Should I be going through all the DI resin I am currently using?
