So I have no clue what this stuff is but from what I’ve read I believe it’s cyano from me over feeding (I still have no clue how much or how often to feed my fish or if I should be feeding with the pumps on or off or really anything but I just got a very diverse clean up crew so hopefully they’ll now eat the leftovers lol) it’s this purpleish almost slime? Or maybe hair? That grows all over my rocks and sand and I’m looking for the best way to remove it. I try to suck it up out of the sand when I do my water changes and it doesn’t move. I just bought a reefcleaners cleanup crew including roughly 25 dwarf Ceriths, 5 baby nerites (I already have 3 adults) I forget how many normal ceriths but I believe I have like 20 maybe 15 ranging from big to small, 5 hermit crabs (I already had 2 smaller hermits and I have 2 Halloween hermits), 5 baby nassarius (already have 2 adults), and 2 emerald crabs, and I think that’s it I kinda forgot everything lol but it was just a normal quick crew. I also got a brittle star and a serpent star along with a pistol shrimp and already have a peppermint shrimp, a pithos crab, and the other previously mentions cuc members. My biggest question is will these new members be able to deal with this type of algae? Or do I have to get something else to specifically eat it and if so what? Or is manual removal he only real way? When I do my water change I normally shoot water at the rocks to remove all algae before I suck any water out but I still comes back after a day or 2. Also wondering is it even a real problem or is it just aesthetics?
