Possibly killed green star polyps

I got some new gsp from a hobbyist. I had it in ten gallon with an old heater. The water got very warm. I know it was well over 80. Some of it had opened back up in the sump of my main tank. But now all of it has been closed a long time. Maybe a little over a week. I can see a few polyps stick out. But the mat is closed for the most part and getting dirty. Did I kill it? I read sometimes it can close for 2-3 weeka and open but I worry about the high temp that it was is for a day and the dust and dirt getting on it.

I don't think you killed it GSP are extremely tough and hard to kill. Give it time I would expect it to recover and grow

Did your gsp finally come back out ? Mine have been drawn in for 5days now.

Mine were badly shocked. they are slowly, extremely slowly coming out but are white now. slow recovery. Just the ones that had extreme temps. All others fine.

Gsp can grow in toilet water, you should be good. Give it time

They came back out. But they are bleached. So it will take time to get green again. I had some turn brown before but they are green now. I flushed some because I thought they were dead. Guess I am a dummy. Before I posted thhis thread.
