Hi all. 32 gal tank at day 22. 2 clowns/2 peppermint shrimp/ 2 hermits/ snail. Cycled nicely then lots of algae. Then white cloudiness. I believe this is not uncommon. All fish etc doing well
algae exploded but now seems to be thinning slowly and parts turning white and dying. I’m thinking this is causing the cloudiness?
8.2 pH. 1.025 sal. <.25 ammonia 0 nitrites/nitrates. Phos .25. KH 8. Calcium 450
Thinking if I reduce light I can wait it out?

I’m replying cause this happened to me just a few days ago. I’m still not even sure what the cloudiness was from but I did a water change earlier today and it seems to have helped a little bit. I’m assuming it will eventually dissapear but mine has been like this for about 3 days. I’m also thinking it was algae related. I started to see a very tiny layer of hair algae that faded really quickly.

Part of the new tank ugly phase, most likely a bacteria bloom from the dead algae nutrient release

Guess we’ll wait it out for a few more days
