So I didn't know where to report this but because I've been scammed before I wanted to put out a PSA for a potential scammer on here. Attached picture has his name.
I was looking for an xr15 for sale and he hit me up. He wanted to talk over email which is a red flag, but I went with it. He then wanted me to pay him using PayPal friends and family which is another red flag. I said no and he stated because it's his son's account and it's personal and not business which makes no sense because that does matter for sending money. One is protected one is not so wanted to advise people. Hopefully an admin can get involved.

paypal only for me. Thank you for letting us know.
I mean I get it some people people don't want to pay the fee. I offered to split and then he gave me that bs response. I'm suspecting he is because it's too many red flags. he wanted to talk over email and not on here, he is a new member with only one message and wanted friend's and family regardless of whether I split the fee. Plus "it's his son's account" like what does that have to do with sending money protected or not so my apologies if he is not a scammer but too many red flags

From the R2R selling forum rules here:

"The sales forum on Reef2Reef is available to members that have been a member for 30 days and have 25 meaningful posts"

So in theory brand new members should not be buying/selling here at R2R.

I've had that exact same thing happen to me, specifically from a WTB! A brand new member contacted me claiming to have just what I was asking for, but wanted me to text his cousin-brother, and pay the guy behind the tree, and the whole thing was a flagrant scam that I didn't fall for. But I've heard this, it's specifically on a WTB. I guess it's easy for random people to go to any random hobby website, find somebody that's looking to buy something, and claim they've got just that person wants.

I can't stand those types of people.

Couple ways you can verify.
Forst and foremost, never ever ever pay them through unprotected services (venmo, cash app, zelle, ect) always use PayPal goods and services.
Second thing they'll do is try to take you off platform (email them, text them, whatsapp or contact a third party)
Third thing you can do is request a custom pic, ask them to take a pic of item with their user name or something written down next to it, this proves the item exists and they have it in their possession.
If all else fails and you do get scammed, you have PayPal goods and services to fall back on to get your money back.
Lastly if it sounds too good to be true, 99% of the time it is.
if you ever come across anybody who seems like a scammer, report the conversation post that makes it look scammy to the mod team.

Well, I think I’ll be skipping this one. I lost my password on my old phone and this is my new account if you lost your password you just put in lost password so you get a new one I guess someone thinks I’m stupid because I’m new..
