Ive always been curious, has anyone ever had a pair of powder blues that appeared to be mated in their tank??

(not thinking about attempting, just honestly curious)

I’ve never seen mated pairs with any tang. I wonder if it is because they school so don’t bond in that way.

True! Ive always wanted a blonde and regular naso pair (like one male and one female) I think that would look super cool! But hard to sex them when they are young.

Thats one thing that I thought was super different from FW, lots of FW fish you can pair! Bettas, mollies, guppies for example!

I would figure that you would have to ask one of two people. Andrew Sandler who has that huge tank or Joseph yaiullo or someone who works with that 20k gallon tank at long island aquarium. I know with those size tanks multiple powdered blue tangs are possible. The question would then become if the tangs are a true pair.

Yeah, I love the videos of them circling each other in their mating ritual! Would love to see that in an aquarium but they are just too dang mean to even attempt lol. I was curious if anyone has seen an honest pair in home tanks!

I think all tangs are broadcast spawners and do not pair up. Here is a video showing a spawning event.

Woah thats so cool looking! The video I saw was two swimming in a tight circle around each other. But that is just super cool looking how they all gather like that and organize!
