I need ideas for led lighting for a 9' long fowlr tank.

Requirements:

Energy efficient-the less power consumtion the better.

Reasonable initial cost (not looking to spend $500 for lighting for a fowlr tank)

Not growing coral in this tank anytime soon so i dont need super fancy expensive lights.

I have an old marineland and an old fluval laying around that i threw over the tank for now.
They draw about 80w each.
Not bad but just seeing what other options there are

its 80w total in dc. 1.5w dc amp ind led x 12 leds. the amperage draw in ac is different
80w Powerful REEF CAPABLE LED
sounds good for marketing. look at the power supply. prob 1.5 amp ac draw or less. powersupplys are overrated as a rule too.
even at 80w ac you doing good too. the other option is a dimmer.
good to check as I dont actually know the specs on your light.
also look at the reef capable par 38 and 10w reef capable leds. the reef leds wont give green algae the R Y & O of a warm or even cool white led.

1.5a draw would actually be 165-180w draw
Killawatt meter says it draws 80w.

Ill check out the diy and the par38 lights

The King of DIY put up this video recently. It is a cheap and energy efficient way to light up a tank that long while offering some customization to suit your needs. Would work great for a FOWLR tank.

Wow i love this idea. Its so simple and cheap!
