Question for you folks.

How do you determine where, how powerful, how many power heads to be in your tank.
I have taken over a 45 JBJ rimless tank and currently for the last 4-5 months have just been using the stock return pump for flow inside the tank.
I've started slowly and been upgrading and just recently purchased the Apex EL and was looking at their Wav as I like to have everything in a all in one solutions. But is it necessary? Can I run with my stock pumps and create the flow required for the fish and corals?
Just looking for peoples opinions and I understand everyone's will be different but it helps see all points of views.

Since this photo I do have a hammer coral at the bottom of the tank and a ricordea

The pump your tank requires will depend on what corals you want to keep. A WAV will give you much flexibility in achieving your goals for the tank.
