Hi,
I have two Tunze 6095 nanostream in my tank.
They are controlled by a Tunze 7096 multicontroller. I've set up the controller for tidal waves which means that one powerhead runs for 6 hours then it switches and the other powerhead runs for 6 hours.
When the powerheads are running I've set them to alternate between 30 and 100% flow.
My question is, is 100% flow to much? Should i lower it?
I have a Reefer 450 tank.

I think the key is the inhabitants, corals don't like continuous flow at them, but otherwise the more flow the better generally. As long as the fish are happy and any soft and large polyp corals aren't retracting, go for 100%. I have my pumps ramp up and down over a 10 second interval, but it's a lot of personal preference. More flow is better for keeping food and waste suspended, and in general people have 10x too little flow compared to the oceans. But in our small boxes we have to consider the smaller dimensions so we don't get constant flow on any one coral or fish.

Thanks fo the tips. Then I'll keep them as is since most things in my tank looks they are thriving. It's just the SPS that has (probably) died and that might other causes for that.
