So today i experienced the necessity of a lid. While doing some maintenance i left the lid off of my tank while i was out of the room.

Came back to find a semi dried clownfish on the floor.

I put her back in so fingers crossed i wasnt too late. She is breathing at right now but not swimming.

Will update after work and see how shes doing.
Hope she bounced back from the magic carpet ride.

She did, came home and it was like nothing had ever happened to her. Tough little thing.

Picked up another goniopora today of the red variety. As i was taking it off the frag plug i accidentally broke it in two, its not looking too happy right now but ill give it a few days before i do anything else in the tank.

Ive picked up a 60litre garbage can to use as my new salt water mixing station. I have an old air pump with an air stone in there to move the water but considering buying another pump to really mix the water well.

I found that my calcium levels were considerably low from using ocean water. Was testing at 360 straight from the bay. So have bought some of the redsea blue bucket salt. Heres hoping it will bring my levels back to where they should be.

Will update with photos when i have a chance.

Very tired this morning, woke up at 3 am to a loud beeping, my kamoer ato alarm woke me up from across the house. My return pump had stopped functioning. I pulled it out of the tank and was surprised to see it covered in some form of calcium build up. Im assuming my dosing trying to bring my levels up had been precipitating out of solution and gunking up my return pump.
I gave it a bath in acid and its looking good as new now and working. I think i may need to inspect my pump more often.

Now off to work, with a little over 3 hours of sleep. I love this hobby.... 🫠

Couple of full tank shots for friday cheers everyone. Love friday reefing with a nice scotch and a few tunes while i sit and admire my tank.
Looking very nice. Love Glitter Bomb. Cute little red one as well. I love Gonis and they’re a main attraction in the 25 I started up in January.
Need more coral. Lots of prime real estate in front 😉

Sheesh Steve... no need to go picking on the guy for having some prime real estate that's not filled in. Everyone doesn't run around, all willy-nilly, like you throwing corals everywhere! 🤣

I do like seem to be a little picky. Im used to my 150g and trying to not just fill it with every coral i come across. I love the progess in steves tank though.

my nitrates have bottomed out consitantly reading zero over the last week, dinos are starting to rear their ugly head even more. My solution? Add more fish!

Today i picked up 3 baby pajama cardinals. Hoping by increasing the bioload of the tank i can get my nitrates higher.

Will also begin to feed more of course.
Hopefully this works.

Thinking of pulling out my roller filter for a while so i stop using so much of the roll. The dinos are causing me to go through it at an alarming rate. I put in a new roller 2 weeks ago and its almost used up already.
Any suggestions for adding nitrates would be appreciated.
