Welcome to my thread.
An end of an era has arrived. I shut down my 150g sps dominated reef tank and sold everything off because I've got a big move happening this week.

Im moving home and unfortunately can't bring my tank with me because it won't fit through any of the doors or windows. 😞

On the positive side im quite excited to start a new journey with a new tank and have chosen a new redsea max nano peninsula g2.

Im hoping to set up a tank with a lot more movement than my last one with only a few nano fish and mostly lps corals.

I cant tell you all how excited I am by the prospect of starting fresh. It's definitely bringing back a spark that I didnt realise was missing with my old tank.

I have a week to wait until my tank arrives so im taking this time to come up with a rock scape that I can be happy with.

Hope you all can enjoy this new adventure with me, feel free to chime in with any tips and advice. Always open to others opinions.

Sorry for the mess in the background. Still a lot of unpacking to do. 😅

Sorry to hear the 150g had to be shut down, I also have a G2 Peninsula from Red Sea, fun little tank, and scape is looking good.

Mine is stock a tad on the high side with a Six-line Wrasse, two Ocellaris clowns, two Bangaii Cardinals and a Orchid Dottyback. Still can't manage to keep nitrates and phosphates up lol.

Ive heard that can be an issue, may have to dose them if it comes to that.

So sorry you had to shut the tank down. The peninsula from Red Sea is a fun tank to mess with!

Im a little sad still but excited to start this new tank. Will be getting all the bells and whistles to help automate it as much as possible.

So yesterday was tank day, I was terribly excited. While at work all I could think of was getting off work to go pick up my tank so when I finally did get off I was so hyped up I didnt realise I had been sent the wrong stand from my lfs's supplier. Got it home and opened the box to find the wrong color stand, which was covered in some kind of mould. Water had obviously gotten into the package during shipping and had destroyed the stand.
I called my lfs immediately and was told they will replace it for me by next week. Fingers crossed it comes in before Christmas.

Tank is cycled light is on only for the picture esthetics. My wife purchased 2 misbar baby clowns as the first fish. I was worrying about the cycle taking forever but it finally finished its cycle on new years eve and confirmed with another dose of Dr tims ammonia.

can't wait to add some coral. Have orded in a few frags from gallery aquatica in queensland australia.

Ill be starting with a photosynthetic gorgonian, a glitter green and purple gonioporra and a turbinaria heronensis.
will update with photos when they arrive.

Corals are starting to be added !
Ive added a few corals to the tank already, 24k gold aussie torch green tipped western australian torch, photosynthetic gorgonian, glitter goni ( dont think this one will make it, hasnt opened up since it arrived 5 days ago.) And findally but not least a turbinaria heronensis frag.

Definitely think I need to invest in a filter for my camera to show the true colors.

Update: 20/1/2026

Glitter goniopora is still clinging to life but has not extended its polyps even once.

I found a nice toxic green leather to add to the tank on my latest trip to apex aquatics in Collingwood victoria. Saw one of the rarest fish in the world there with only 2 in captivity, a Wassi Anthias.

Hi, tank looks awesome!

Could you by chance measure the height of the tank WITH the light attached.

I might be getting one and trying to figure out if it'll fit in my space (I have 27" of height to deal with).

Thank you!

How is the tank doing? I am setting up one of these as well!
Its doing really well at the moment, ive got dinos but they are part of the whole new tank thing. Its been up around 4 months now all my corals are thriving and growing. I had an issue with my return pump but believe that was caused by dosing too much calcium which precipitated out of aolution and bound to the impeller.

Love this tank
