I am currently keeping a 180 mixed reef but the wife has always wanted an eel and lionfish. So....I have set up a second tank which is currently cycling. It is a standard 90g (48x18x24). She has requested a snowflake eel and lion fish. My questions are:

-What lion fish would you suggest? I like the Antenatta or Radiatta.
-What other tank mates would be good? Humu trigger, puffer, Marine Betta, Angel, wrasse?

I am good with the reef tank and stocking peaceful fish but the predator thing is all new to me. Thanks for the help!

Here are a few pics of the new set up and current 189g reef. I am waiting for more rock to arrive for the FOWLR...

I have an antennata in a 90, he's great in that size tank; he'd go good with a snowflake. As far as puffers go, it's really too small for a dogface and I find the toby puffers to be quite the nippers; I wouldn't want one with my lions. Small angels would fit, the only one I have experience with is the cherub and he was a great fish, do some research on the others if you're interested. My antennata loves eating fish so make sure nothing fits in his mouth, like any of the smaller wrasses; but a large enough wrasse good for that size tank would work in that mix. The humu grows so very slowly he would work for years, but could eventually grow out of a 4' tank. A marine betta would work, and maybe one of your smaller tangs. The radiata is a larger lion but both are perchers and pretty much floaty type swimmers, so I think either would work. They also look similar, I choose the antennata because they are smaller.

+1

Soldierfish, marine betta, butterflyfish, flagfin angel, flame or coral beauty angel would all work.
