I have a yellow tang that I bought almost 3 years ago for $75 a week before the ban. It has outgrown the tank and I’m wondering what the current prices are. Thank you for your time and consideration image.jpg

Depending on your area and market .. where I live 200-250 for a wild caught in a big city you could probably get 250-300

Start looking at online vendors and see what they were selling wild caughts for and its probably double to triple that now if I had to guess. Biota sells captive bred for 165 if that helps at all

Personally speaking I think you are looking at it the wrong way. The going rate, retail, for a yellow tang is $165 when buying direct from Biota. No one can tell the difference between them.

450-600 retail is what I’ve seen.

What you could get is 250-300 forums I would imagine. Great fish

I see them in the $400-$600 range. But they’ve been for sale at that price for months. Not one LFS that has them have sold at that price.

Looks like a beautiful specimen. If you are willing to ship I assume you have a good chance of getting someone to pay $250-350 or more given that the 1" specimen from Biota are selling for $165 with $56 shipping (at least to my zip code in California).
