Pricing used equipment

Honest queston. How do you put a price on your used tank with a bunch of equipment that is all just a year old or less? What factors do you consider? Because I am struggling on marketplace having several people asking what’s the least I would go? I upgraded my tank but most of the equipment is going with the waterbox marineX 60.2.

30-40 percent off new. If they can't pay that, they never could afford it anyway.
Send 'em on their way. Never answer that "lowest you can take" question. Those people don't have the money. Your price is what they can pay, or they can get lost, right?

The only exceptions I make because I have a heart is if it's a young guy trying to make his tank right. Then I'll help a brother out.

But a grown man asking me what the least I would go is, is not too manly in my book.

Not a bad price for sure. I generally try to sell in my local reef club. Also will give away or trade a lot of items. Our club just had our first reef yard sale. Went pretty well. basicly take all your old crap, sell it cheap and by someone elses old crap.

I walked away with bubble magus 3 head doser with 3 head expansion(nib) doser for $20
and 2x working 3/4" seaswirls for $30.

I would have taken the $400 honestly.

Selling used equipment is brutal.

When I sold my last tank I explicitly stated all or nothing, but that doesn't stop anyone from asking if they can just buy the skimmer/etc.
Yup. I see that too.
