Hey guys I have a quick question on the primary drain pipe into the sump. Im looking to get away from using filter socks. My primary drain is about half inch to an inch above the sump water level and it makes quite a bit of noise without a sock.

I'm wondering if I lower the pipe below the surface or if I should put an elbow on it to make it less direct of an impact on the water. The overflow is quiet just curious on the pipe primary drain if I should have it submerged or if that changes the siphon somehow.
