I have tried most of the available tutorials online about setting up my P4 unit, I can't find much information about P4 MAC. I have MAC binding IP setting in my router setting so I have to get the unit MAC address in order to assign a static IP from my router, has anyone with experience doing this? how do I find the MAC address for my unit?

I normally do this way. I connect through USB and latest GCC. Open communication. Activate Client and DHCP.

Save and close the GCC. Restart GCC -> communication and try to find current IP address. Here in my - it is 192.168.1.122 but in my examples I use 192.168.1.113 as the IP you get from the DHCP

Close GCC

Open my router

Open LAN and DHCP server. Go to manual IP address. Open the pull down menu

Test the different Mac addresses that will be shown - when a mac address that have your IP address show up - you have found it- Press add (+ sign) and save. You can rename it later to P4 but in my example the unknown mac address was 192.168.1.113. I use to skip the DNS in this stage and in the router

Save and close

Open GCC again -> communication

Mark use following settings. In my example - the IP is 192.168.1.113, Subnet 255.255.255.0 and standard gateway my router 192.168.1.1. For DNS - I normally use Googles DNS 8.8.8.8

Save and close GCC

Now it should work and you will get the same IP every time
