Now, whether or not you agree with the grey, any color will work as well.
From a UV perspective, this type of grey makes the Coral pop so much deeper in day and at night.
I used Home Depot Behr, the color is called wet cement.
Take 1/8 plexiglass and cut to size.
On a 29G Aqueon it is 30" x 16.25"
Ensure your cutting a piece that fits right to the glass if you have a rimmed tank.
Paint one side of plexi with a roller ensuring an even spread (you can lift up toward light while doing so to ensure it covers the plexi)
Now, you may see faint light coming through if not enough paint is applied. This is fine.
Do not do a second coat.
Now when it is 100% dry cover the painted side with white duct tape.
Cut the extra tape off of the edges. This tape protects the paint from HOB filters and such.
When you are done you apply the clear unpainted side to the glass of your aquarium.
With black duct tape you can tape top and bottom to the plastic rim of the tank.
Because you cut to fit against glass the plastic rim kind of acts to holds it in place.

Looking good! Thanks for the tutorial. Color is a subjective thing, though. I like black, it's just me.
