Protien skimmer newbi qustions!

Si i was wandering whats a good protien skimmer that will fit in the back of my biocube 29. i dont wanna spend more then 40 bucks. And are protien skimmers that good to have? i have particles floating around and it drives me nuts will a protien skimmer get rid of them? What are good about these? do they kill algea? (hair)

Why is it a must have? Will it make my water crystal clear as said by others?

Protein skimmers remove so much out of the water column before they can become issues. One of the bonuses is clearer water, its not the only thing. It removes waste, organics, inorganics. Things in which our systems can do without in abundance.
