so my iPhone has been giving me problems with charging lately i plug it in and it does the apple beep/gong noise that all apple phones do when you connect the charger but sometimes after a couple of hours its not at 100%

last week it started to disconnect from the stereo in my truck randomly when i hit a bump or turn a corner..

tonight i came home and noticed the house was a little cold and wanted to turn up the heat without getting out of bed so i picked up the trusty iPhone to get on the honeywell app to bump up the heat 2 degrees and the iPhone that had been plugged in was dead....

i got up and went to my iMac and googled iPhone 6 not charging and up pops a slew of "pocket lint in charging port and how to clean it...

with a toothpick i pulled out 19.875 pounds of pocket lint from this little bitty charging port (not really 19 pounds but it was a metric butt ton "bigger than a buttload but smaller than a ****ton")

so for anyone that has an iPhone like me that uses it to control stuff like a house or reef tank, the key is to take a blunt object and scrape the crud off the back wall of the charging port.... i could not believe how much farther the charger went into the phone... there must have been a good 32nd of an inch of crud jammed up against the back wall of the charging port that was stopping my charger from going all the way into the phone that was compacted by pushing the charger into the phone daily...
