Pump too big?

Is this pump to big for the chamber or “if it fits it works” applicable here? I always oversize pumps so they aren’t running at 100%.

I would say you would be ok.
With dc pumps, I do the same so I can dial the power down.

Thanks. It’s a Vectra L2. Innovative marine 112 with Fiji 30 sump. Nothing else in return section as it’s already split in half for a fuge or other media. I’m really just concerned about creating a vortex in the corner and a bunch of noise. L2 is overkill but I plan to make a manifold and run the return, an algae scrubber, UV, and two reactors off of it.

Since it can be dialed down for just a return function it should be ok. But you start adding more flow you might be adding some turbulence in there.
Any chance you have room to go external?

Yes this is pretty much my main concern. Good point, I forgot I can take the blue fitting off.
