We used to have a fairly good selection of ORA clams locally. Once the other breeders came online, everyone got away from ORA. They all told me the same thing, ORA was just too hard to deal with.

The clams from ORA are hard to Deal with?
Not the clams, dealing with ORA. Not sure if it is still their practice, but they used to make you buy a bunch of their clowns before they would let you get any good clams. Not sure of the exact amount but one LFS said he would have to buy over $1000 worth of clowns to get any of the ultra clams. With more competition maybe that practice has changed. I do know it is rare to see a clam in a LFS anymore. Used to see them all the time 5 or 6 years ago. Maybe they are just a lot harder to get now. It seems when a store does get them they sell fast so I would think it would be something they would stock.

Thank you for the clarification.
Did you go to Aquashella a few weeks back? I know a couple of vendors had clams at Aquashella - Dallas.

Also, do a search for Clam Mania on facebook. He was at RAP-Dallas and had a lot of nice clams, though I thought some were too expensive.
