I haven't done it personally but I've read a lot of people have done it safely while a few haven't. Some argue it's not worth the risk. Hopefully someone on here has had luck regenerating it.

I never had any problems doing it. Just follow the directions carefully to make sure that the bleach is neutralized completely before reuse. I mixed it around a bit during the Prime bath to make sure there were no problem areas, and usually left it in the Prime a bit longer than called for.

I stopped using it a while back, I found carbon worked almost as well and is cheap enough I don't mind tossing it.

Thank you I soaked them in bleach for 24 hours then changed the water then let set for another 24 hours and I did that with new water changes a few more days and not I'm going to do the prime bath

You can also use H2O2. I just soak in a dollar store bottle for a few days, rinse & put back in, cleans it right up. I've always been scared to use the bleach.

I've regenerated it many times. I usually have two bags to swap between. After I soak in prime I just leave the spare soaking in RODI until the second needs to be regenerated

Meh, it's easy. I used to do three rinses with water conditioner with a powerhead over a few days, it always smells a bit weird after a regen.
Stopped using it once I started carbon dosing but its still my favorite media.

I have 3 bags of purigen I use on rotation and regen them when ive used 2. I have regenerated them probably 4 times so far over the last year id say. I have never had a problem like said above just follow the instructions, they are used on my biocube so I have a feeling if there was going to be an adverse reaction it would pronounced and unmistakable for what it is.

Done it several times. I run it through a prime bath twice to be sure all the bleach is gone. Make sure the bleach smell is gone.

I've been using for 4 years now and never had a problem. I rinse for a couple of days then soak in rodi until needed.

I have used it even after I went to saltwater ( on my freshwater) I leave in water with bleach for 24 hours then prime twice for 24 hours each. Then 24 hours in RO/DI water. It takes less than 5 minutes to do it so no problem
