purple algae

my tank turned from purple algae to black in 2 days and everything died I checked everything the only thing off was a high but not extreme was the PH any thoughts thank you

I used a brush on the coral rocks with hydrogen peroxide and then rinsed with clean RO water was that a good idea saw that on YouTube

Can you get more information. How big was the tank? How old was the tank? What kind of livestock did you have? What kind of lights….

Pics under white light would be helpful. Are you sure it was algae and not bacteria or other pest forms?

Sorry for your losses, but glad you joined and are hanging in there! You must have lots of BBA - Bounce Back Ability and that is a great thing for this hobby. The more info you can share the more likely someone will have helpful ideas so it doesn't again happen
