Hi all,

Recently began plumbing a 75 gallon tank with an Eshopps HOB overflow (not ideal, I know), EcoTech Vectra S1, and Bashsea Signature Series sump. As of right now, I’ve been having to keep the return pump running on the second lowest setting to avoid overflowing the tank. The HOB overflow and 1” PVC drain that are attached can’t seem to keep up with the Vectra. I’m thinking about splitting the 1” drain into two pieces and having a second drain (probably bigger) flow into the sump elsewhere with a drawstring sock to allow me to run the Vectra on a higher setting. Does this sound like it’ll work? Yes, it’s too late to drill the tank.

What model Eshopps HOB overflow do you have? PF-800? Any chance that you could upgrade to the 1000 or 1200 in order to get the second drain hole in the overflow box?

I was thinking about possibly doing this instead. It’s the PF-800 right now. Thought about upgrading to one of their newer models with 2 bulkheads.
