Those will be fine. If you want the PVC to look pretty you can get clear primer instead of the purple.

I'm a messy plumber but my sump is in the basement and I don't care

Yeah, oatey is totally fine, as mentioned the clear primer can help keep it looking clean. Just try to give it 24 hrs or at least 12 hrs before it touches water.
I got purple pvc that’s why I got it

I would still use clear even on colored pvc, if you already bought the purple primer then it wont be a problem, but I imagine it will be a different shade and you might still see it.
I’ll just get the clear might as well and sell the other one on offer up lol

Yeah, don’t forget the fittings are either white or grey, so that purple primer will spill onto those like in the above pic posted, if your doing colored pipe, my guess is aesthetics is important to you, so clear will save you a headache.

If not familiar with making a pvc cement joint, here are the steps:
1. primer - socket, primer - pipe, primer - socket again.
2. Glue - pipe, glue - socket, glue pipe again.
3. Insert - rotate 90*

That’s been my process and has always worked well.

I actually spread purple primer on the pvc in my tank because it was less obtrusive against a coralline background than was white pvc.
I've done that too, many years ago before colored pvc was available.

the reaction happens much faster than this. typically the glue only needs about 20 minutes. it doesnt dry, but forms a chemical bond with the pvc. 30 mins is more than enough time

Ok so follow the glue - pipe, glue- socket, glue pipe and rotate 90° if I use the fusion?

Yes. Probably most important, make sure to hold the fitting and pipe in place. Meaning push. The pressure from the glue will force the pipe out, especially on larger diameter (1 inch) and will make take out your make up. You won't realize it if you aren't careful....

Twist, push and hold for 5-10 secs

Yeah the holding for a good 10 seconds is needed. Plus I only rotate the fitting a 1/4 turn or less.
agreed. i used plain white pvc as well... so used pencil on the pipe after dry fit to mark where my 90s/45s needed to match up. most people use way too much glue too. the stuff burns your hands for a reason.... it literally melts plastic
