Yellowhead Jawfish

What have you all done for your burrowing jawfish? Is it wise to spend the money on an acrylic box to glue to the bottom of the tank, or does it just make more send to use pvc and let them burrow in and around it?

I don't think one spot would work , I've never tried but they move around several times until they find a spot they like, which is part of the fun of watching them IMO. How much sand do you have now, can you add more?

just burrow in the sand. they will choose the spot where they want to be. they are smart. I had a blue spot that recognized when I shut the power heads off, food came. so he started saying he wanted to be fed by grabbing a mouthful of sand and spitting it into the powerhead and then swim over and look at me. meanwhile the tank now looked like a snow globe. I now have a pearl one and I do not turn the powerhead off. mine burrows under a rock with sand piled around it and shells around the entrance. closes it with one big shell every night.
