Stole this idea from HexOfFish YouTube page.

The last pictures with the tank on a shelf, the stand is upside down, which made me think about just cutting the legs off. Every thing is 2x4x8, and I think it took 16, and I used #9 2-1/2 screws.

The openings are 31” Wide by 19” High, and the cross members the tank sits on are 13”. Total width is 66 1/2” and depth is 16”.

Height is what ever you make it. At present it is 96”.

20G Aqueon tanks are 30 1/2 x 12 1/2 X 12 1/2 so you have 6” above tank for cover, and getting your hands in, and 1/2” either side of tank. You will notice that the tank sits on three rungs, and not the external frame.

Nice build man! I’m wanting to do something similar once we move!

TY. Threw it out for some people who might need a setup similar to this. I have some tangs and clowns coming I need to quarantine. The tanks will be very simple, just heater, sponge filter, ammonia badge.

Hopefully the pictures and dimensions I gave will be enough to follow.

The design is not perfect, as in the live forces of the tank. The frame will need to carry about 1000 pounds of weight, and it has a narrow Foot print, so something falling into it can be a problem, and the shear value of the screws, although adequate, do not leave too much room of safety. I estimated about a 50 pound shear value of each screw, so each tank location has about a 600 pound shear value per tank, with each tank at about 160 pounds when filled with water. The shear value of the screw is conservative.

On to my next build of an 8 foot x 4 foot stand for a 90G tank and 50G lowboy plumbed into a sump.
