I build a emergency quarantine tank for a ich treatment on my blue tang with water, rock and sand from my main tank.

Every parameter is fine, but amonia levels are .50ppm, i made a water change today again of 5% and add a 10ml of outbreak products for maintance of bacteries! But levels keep @ .50ppm.

Recomendations for this issue, thanks !!

Is the blue tang in the qt tank? Even though you used rock from your main tank, it may take some time for the bacteria to build up to the given bioload.

Copper will give a false ammonia reading. A seachem ammonia alert is not affected though. I would try that and really watch the fish to see if there's any distress. If there is ammonia present, I would add more rocks or rubble from the main tank.

Another thing to keep in mind is that rocks and sand will absorb copper, so it might be tough to keep your levels consistent.

Is weird cause all fishes looks fine and all parameters including ph is fine. Usually ph drops on high levels of ammonia.

All i have is api, dint see that seachem reader at local stores

You’ll need an ammonia badge by seachem to accurately measure ammonia with copper present in QT.

You’ll also need some sponge media and dr Tim’s bacteria in a bottle or BioSpira to keep ammonia from creeping up.

You do not want live rock or sand in the quarantine as it will make the copper levels unstable and nullify your efforts.

I have all that you mention in my tank...

A little bit of sand and 3-4 rocks from my main tank sump.
Fishes looks good and i verify all parameter right now and everything is ok.

Even without copper in my DT it registers at 0.25-0.50, and I know there’s no ammonia in the water.
