I had a pair of wyoming whites but 1.5 years in one disappeared. now 2 years later I want to pair him. He is in a reefer 250 but has not really grown. still about 1.5" and I would love to pair him with a black storm now that they are cheap but worried because I will qt the black storm for a month in copper and feel like they will both be females. Is it possible to do this

They’ll determine dominance and one will be female and one will be make.

I am just worried that while in qt tank the new fish will change into female since he will probably be in there by himself

If you get young/small enough it should be fine, I'd get as small as you can, about an inch.

It isn’t a permanent change. They can always change again.

Am I wrong to think it is a permanent change. i thought you could not have two females because they will kill the other
