Hey guys I just got a handfull of grape calupra, chaeto, and some i think its called saw blade calupra. I want to add it to my sump but am wondering if i should worry about pests in it? Or should i just toss it in the fuge??? Thanks for your help!

Depends on what you're really looking for out of it? If you're trying to get an instant boost of pods, then rinsing the macro will flush them all out of it, but will still provide a safe haven for your current pods to reproduce. If you're just looking to use it for absorbing nutrients, then I would swirl it around in some RO before tossing it in your fuge.

well make sure you run the light for them 24/7 because calurpa can become asexual and usually spawns in the dark and could mess up your water alot, chaeto is safe though.

Yeah my sump light only goes off for 1hr every 12.

Is anything bad known to travel in this stuff?

Who knows what could be living in a ball of chaeto. I would rinse it just to be safe
