Question about the ION director

@Vinny@GHLUSA I have one question about the ION director that I can't find the answer to. We have order one at the place I work and we have 4 different systems with different water parameters. Is it possible to use the ION director for testing from a sample jar there we can alter the water? Take a sample from system 1 - test it, change to a sample form system 2 - test and so one. Will the probe survive if we only test every 4 day in this manner. We will do a testing station in this case it can work this way. No automatic tests - only manual tests. The critical question is if the probe can be "dry" for a week and if the sample chamber is rinsed properly after each test.

Yes, you will be able to use the IOND on an as-need basis. So if you wanted to manually take samples from each system and have the IOND use it, that is fine as long as you have enough water from the system for the water sample.

@Lasse odd question if you don't mind. How will the logs or measurements be properly segregated to the correct tank?

If you go as-needed and run the tests manually you can obviously take notes. On the other hand the data logger within the GHL/IOND won't know the difference. Or will it?

May not be important nor do I understand/know how the GHL stores or manages data retention but from a data perspective I wouldn't want mixed numbers in my sample for trends/history. Then again I could be way off here :D

A test a day is a tank a day, as long as you keep testing the same tank on the same day you have all the data you need to export and turn into nice graphs per tank.

Another option could be use the logbook option record the values there also.

In the logbook I can ad a note which tank its about exactly at the time I take the sample - as an example here with my ORP and change of peroxide in my oxydator

With a really large number of tanks to test you could use a qr- or barcode per tank that you scan (into Excel or other software with tank ID and date- and timestamp) just before you put the IOND to work so you can match these with the IOND logfile you can export afterwards based on date- and timestamps.

Makes sense. I think it is a interesting concept as most hobbyists run a single tank. Then there are hobbyists who have frag tanks. I can't speak for others but to me it always makes sense to plumb everything together but looking at different use cases that may not make sense.
