Quick question for all you biocube 8 owners that have put a maxi jet 9 in place of the stock return pump. What have you did to make it produce at its full potential.I have noticed that it fits so tight that the intake of the maxi is right against the wall in the back area. And it seems to cut it's potential in half.So it is almost like the stock pump.

i used a 1200 just the pump nothing on the intake of the powerhead.
and when i put it in i have to put the suction end in at an angle but it doesnt cut down or touch the side of the tank.
just my .02
i zipped tie the orginal BC8G returne pump on the left side of the tank "looking at it"
right at the overflow and put a twisting thing at the end. so the bc8 pump sucks the watter in to the overflow a little better and i noticed the top was cleaner no film on the top of the water
