Questions about yellow wrasse ???

Well I've tried several times to get one of these. All but one vanished into the sand, never to be seen again. One tiny little guy swam around for about a week before vanishing. I must have a Kraken in my sand or something.

Do you end up seeing it swimming around on a day-to-day basis during the day?

Mine is always swimming all over the tank. It never hides and goes to bed when it’s dark. They are not fearful fish and they can hold their ground. Mine is pretty big for a wrasse I think. Not sure it’s my first one.

It is very normal for sand sleepers to need a week or so of sleep. Concern is if you see it come out, get scared, and dive in the sand again continuously.

Mine took 4 days to come out of the sand. I thought it was dead, but it wasn't. Now, I see him in the evenings, but when I feed in the am, he is still asleep, i guess. lol

I have two yellow wrasses. It’s very interesting to watch them interact with each other. They were added separately and both spent about a day in the sand before emerging. For a while one used to go to bed well before lights off but now they both stay up until it’s dark. They will swim together and then go their own way for a while but they always come back together. No aggression between the two but they both get harassed by my Lubbock’s Fairy Wrasse. It will chase them around a few times per day. They’ve been great additions to my tank and have been good tank mates. They create no drama.
