Ok, so i don't want to hijack this thread but since there are a couple guys on here with experience with these lights.. Will I be ok with 2 Radions for my 120 gallon sps dominate? Dimensions are 4 X 2 X 2.. Hope you don't mind me asking dirtysumpguy  but i have had these on my mind all day.. lol

I find that it is what you switch from. For a 120 perhaps if you have 2 lesser or equally equivalent. I find that my 2 400 watter over the 90 was more than these guys got at 100%. I got great growth under the 400's but the color never satisfied me. So I'll hang the 400 over the frag tank for growth and start to really enjoy the colors popping out.

:) Kurt

J Rog - I know they claim to be good for 2'x2' so two seems to be a good setup for a 120. I have one a 60, so two on a 120 seems right!!

Wrasseluver - that's what I currently do, but man it would be nice to be able to program it as I said!!

I'm thinking either the bulbs were really old from the online stores I bought from before (most likely) or the Radion is slightly more powerful and consistent than a 250W MH... Though I told myself to just stick with buying from fellow reefers...those frags have done great, the "store" bought ones even when claimed to be kept under MH have bleached/burned.

landlord - I never noticed that...I read most of the documentation but overlooked that!! Your tank looks beautiful

Thanks for the kind words. I try my best. I also overlooked it until someone mentioned it in passing. I was shocked as from all the talk I thought they would have more punch. wrasseluver is correct looks are deceiving, these are bright, just a different bright.

Kurt/landlord - are you saying that you got better color with the Radion but better growth with the MH?

That is EXACTLY what I am saying! It was a trade off but when you tank gets really tight you start to make different decisions on the direction you want to take it.

Yeah that would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback/info guys, really helpful. As long as I get decent growth, coloration is what I care about most! I'm not expecting to get the same growth as I had on my last tank using my dual 400W MH, but I'm OK with that as long as my colors look just half as good as Kurt's do!!
