Radion G5 shipping/boxing issues

Anybody else receive their G5 and the interior of the box broken and completely misshapen?

This retail box is terrible compared to g4.

The g4 had a plastic insert that held the light. I'm this one there is nothing, just folded cardboard.

In this box, the heavy power brick is not held in place by anything, it just slides around I'm the bottom, with a thin piece of foam that separates it from the light, and it gets shipped LEDs side down.

I opened my new G5, right side of the interior cardboard structure is crushed. The light is under this portion. When I inspect the light the led panel optic cover is cracked. The black housing is also cracked.

You'd think at the cost of the light, to cut corners on the retail packaging would not be part of the final product.

On a side note, my 4 pack versa pump also showed up in bad shape, with the interior of the box crushed, the blue part of the interior box had rubbed off on one of the pump from the rubbing that was going on. 2 of the spring clips behind the pump were cracked.

I've got an email out to ecotech and I'm sure they will fix it. It just seems something that should be addressed so they can fix it.

Got some xr15s also. Same scenario. If before you open your radions , if it feels loose in the box before you break the seal look it over very well. Both the housing we fractured on these.

They had the same issue with the interior box support being crushed

I have the same issue on my XR30 Blue. I have noticed a cracked / pop sounds when the fan was on. I had contacted Ecotech about it and they intially told me it was normal. I closely examined the fixture and noticed the area around the 4 screws to the optic lens cover were cracked. Unfortunately Ecotech can do anything at the moment because of the current pandemic going on. I’ll have to wait on the parts department to reopen to get a replacement for it.

Box designer gonna get fired!

joking, but that’s pretty weird. Typically Ecotech products have fantastic packaging, like apple.

For that much money you would expect a little better. Almost looks like it was opened before, returned and re sold.
No these are brand new sealed units, and production date alone wouldn't allow for that quick of a turn around. I got one out of that initial production run and it had the same issue.

It's seems very common, I'm 3 out of 4 and it looks like it's effecting xr30 and 15

One of my friend have the same issue too not only the housing and optic lens were cracked, but also all the screws were a little loose. You may want to check on them too

I have the Gen 3 pro too and when I received the Gen 5 the box was a little different. I’ve realized that the box was much smaller compare to the Gen 3.
The gen 3 and 4 had a plastic housing inside that held the light

I just opened all 6 of my Gen 4 Blues and 5 of the 6 had cracks from over tightening and one had lens cracked.... son of a b

Crap...that’s really suck when over 80% of the fixtures came damaged. Can you return them to the seller and ask for replacement or do you have to go through Ecotech?

It seems pretty common, in sure if alot of people would inspect their lights they might see the same thing.

Was looking at the xr15 gen 5 because they are cheaper than a kessil but now not sure. May wait 6 months or so and hope they straighten out the issues.
