Radion mounting direction

I’m setting up a 36” aquarium and have two G6s with RMS mounts. First, shall I mount them with the rectangular LED array parallel or perpendicular to the tank? Second, does anyone have any recommendations for spacing between the mounts?

36 inches is fairly wide even for the xr30. I would recommend mounting them perpendicular and spaced about a foot apart
