Rainbow bubble tips comparison

Hello everyone! I’m posting here as I’m curious why I have two rainbow bubble tips that are completely different in color.

The smallest (2 pics one from the stock photo the other I took) and the big colorful one - both look so different but they’re both labeled as rainbow bubble tips.

The little one I recently bought from a vendor. The big one I traded some things with a local reefer. The vendor and I have LED lights and the local reefer had t5s.

Is it a lighting thing? Maybe just different strains? When I google rainbow bubble tips I get both variations that you see here. So I’m generally just curious! Maybe one is a true rainbow and the other isn’t/just what today labels a rainbow? Or maybe it’s because this one is still young?

The local reefer has had this colony for YEARS. His actually is way more colorful under my lights than they were his but his stuff had amazing growth.

Ignore the hair algae. It’s a QT tank and it came in on a frag - which is why I’m glad I QT.

There are multiple color variations that are all called “rainbow “ BTAs. The minimum requirement is simply going from red/orange to green. I have three different versions myself. It looks like you have two different ones there yourself.

I thought so but wasn’t sure thank you! A friend mentioned one is a reg rainbow and the other is an ultra. I’m guessing they’re right. I know they can take over so I’ve avoided getting any for awhile cause I had greens that took over my whole tank before but I caved and got more lol
