I'm excited to announce that the much anticipated *Unofficial* Mini Complete Tank Contest officially begins this Friday (Oct. 1st). I tossed this friendly competition into the ether with only a few grains of hope that there would be a handful of interested reefers. The number of enthusiastic entries that have piled in during the past couple months, and the generous prize donations made by our R2R community members, have been absolutely thrilling and heartwarming for me. Thank you to all who have joined, all who have contributed, and all who will follow along on this tiny adventure!
And now for my own mini reef goodness: I had hoped a couple more items would have arrived in the mail by now, but alas, the mailbox remains empty.
Naked mini tank:
I'm not overly skilled in construction of any kind, but I am a crafty person—for my build I have fashioned a set of acrylic return and drain pipes that will feed into an itty bitty display refugium (which has yet to arrive).
Tiny HOB return and drain:
Aquascaping is one of my favorite aspects of the initial start-up process of any tank. I do love to rummage through a good rock rubble pile to find the perfect pieces. I used a piece of plastic crafting mesh for the overall size, acrylic rods to suspend the rocks, and super glue and Marco Rocks Cement to hold it all together.
Dressed up mini tank:
I chose to create an entire living room scene to accompany my tiny tank. The mini house, like the tank, is still under construction.
