I’ve been opening Windows, running great surface agitation with powerheads , even considered running a skimmer line outside! I could not get my pH increased. I figured I have dogs in the house so it won’t increase?...

I plugged in the co2 media in a BRS reactor and attached to my skimmer. my pH immediately within the morning rose to 8.3! Never had it rise above 8.19 with windows wide open all day. I’m going to aim for 8.4 and see how well these corals grow over time.

Just wanted to share for those who are struggling with the pH numbers.

I’m a little on the high side from water change 9.3 .

What’s the science behind that do you know

It will make the media work better, but for longer, nah

I’m just going by what I have experienced personally. When I run humidified air through the media, it’s effective for a longer amount of time.

Can you tell me what you’ve experienced? I’m curious to know why this hasn’t been the case for you.

I just checked.. ph level is 8.5!

I unplugged the co2 scrubber. Are you guys manually taking it on and off of the skimmer every day? Those who have it plugged in the skimmer line

I never disconnect it.
Well with the new media I was reading 8.7 by the end of the night. Now it’s steady at 8.38 but I was thinking wow this is something I’m going to have to er parameters on to turn on and off the skimmer. Which I ended up doing anyway so when ph is above 8.5 is turns off the skimmer
