Random mushroom

Hi everyone, I bought a miscellaneous coral a coupon of months ago. It died but, a mushroom popped up in its place. Anyone know what kind of mushroom it is?

No I do not. I inherited this aquarium from my boyfriend and he doesn’t know nor remember. We both don’t think it’s the coral because when it was bought it was a lighter red color and then it became a dark grey so we assumed it was dead. It also puffs out when the lights turn off.

Looks like your coral as already shared. Not a mushroom.

The verdict is in and it’s a mushroom it came off the dead coral this morning.
Don’t mind the two corral my boyfriends trying to “save” them

Are you sure thats not the new head of acan bailing out?
Can you get clear pictures of front and bottom of piece that fell off?
Should have a foot on bottom of it.

Was the staff at TSA able to confirm your coral in question is a shroom?

Flip that thing over and let's see the bottom.

Doesn't look like a mushroom to me still.

That is definitely not a mushroom. The polyp probably bailed because it was already weakened/trying to grow back and you messed with it. Probably for sure dead now.
