Reactor repair?

Anyone have any idea on how I would go about repairing this reactor? I was thinking I could try and just glue the hairline fractures or does anyone know if it’s possible if I heat up the top in the bottom I can unbonded and buy another 5 inch diameter acrylic tube to just replace?

Oof… repairing this is a tall order… acrylic tubing isn’t cheap, and welding acrylic to be watertight is non-trivial…

Your best bet here would honestly be to find another reactor, given how inexpensive they are!

(This is to say, you could theoretically silicone each of these cracks, but silicone doesn’t stick well to plastic, and it would likely start leaking again down the road…)

I think I found the same acrylic cylinder on Amazon do you think I could pop the top and bottom pvc pieces and re weld the new cylinder?

Well, it’s solvent welded into the grooves in the PVC, so I doubt the parts are going to come apart intact!

Solvent welding watertight joints is tough, hence the manufacturer routing a groove into the PVC parts to weld a larger surface area!

Your best-bet here would probably be just saving the fittings and finding another reactor body! (Or just use a BRS reactor, they’re cheap!)
