After transferring some corals and the ones that had issues 9/10 were just a booger frag but some were larger. After changing plugs I noticed the larger ones were all tiny encrustments what I do with zoas being no skeleton to build.
Does the size or the coral colony help it live??? Rhetorical question.
My confusion is they were all from a “reputable” seller and were far more $ for anything then my local stores here puts out and foxx type stuff.
So after all’s said and done I feel locals are far more rewarding in many ways with the quality of encrustmented coral and ACTUAL coral with a backbone to be able to support itself.
In picture it’s frag plugs as the core to cut time I would say.I would call it over encrusted break off but growing on a substrate that can look larger then a flat crust. Is that false advertising?
I’ve been trying to make heads or tales from Iran growth so now I know why it’s growing so odd. It would be niceness to know at least. “Hey that’s 1/4 of a real coral so be more delicate then it looks to be”
