Hey all! I have an 8 month old RS Reefer Nano with this brownish encrusting algae on the life rock. It started out as small speckles and has grown to a larger mass as pictured below. I am unable to blow it off the rock, but can chip it away with my finger. The speckles are slowly getting larger on the rock that is exposed to light. Nitrates <10, phos .02. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated! Pics below under white/yellow lighting.

Thanks!

I heard about this stuff and it seems no one can ID it. But people have found that it prefers lower light. So if possible bump your light up.

Good to know, I currently have a current USA marine light that sits flush with the top of the aquarium. Planning to upgrade to the AI this Christmas. Thank you!

Anyone else have any insight on this stuff?

Bump. Phosphates basically zero this whole time as well. Wondering if I should begin dosing neophos or something of the sorts to get PO4 up? I just don't want to feed whatever this stuff is growing on my rocks. Thanks!
