Red Light at Night?

Hello - I recently picked up two gen 2 xr30 lights. I have them on a smaller 50 gallon tank for now, plan on expanding down the road.

given the tank size, I’ve been running coral AB program at 30% intensity for the mix of corals I have (lps and sps)

my question: I like having a dim red light on the tank after the coral AB program runs so I can see the fish at night. Is having this red light on going to give me algae (or other) problems?

I'm my experience with reef ab if you start to use to much and it's just settling in the tank you will get this grayish green bio fuzz film on ur rock and substrate (says so on the bottle) if you do it just takes some siphoning off or some turkey basting it off stuff.

I would assume given this balance that the red light may promote some algae growth. Have u thought of just running very very low blues? My orbit runs a 5 percent program after lights out and it still is very visable in there.

It shouldn’t cause an issue, but if you start seeing algae growth you could cut the intensity back or turn it off.
