I have my red planet about 4-6 inches under the water.. it is right under my 250 watt 15k metal halid bulb.. It is red red, almost a rasberry red with green at the base... I have another piece in my sand bed and it has wayy more green in it.. so I say more light makes red and less light makes it more green.. :)
