Red Sea g2 valve problems

Red sea g2 downflow valve worked without problems for 8 months. Now it seems completely impossible to adjust, either the water level drops or it rises. Have unscrewed the valve and cleaned it, but still have problems. Anybody have any good tips?

I hope you find a solution. I am only in month 2 of my RedSea 525 G2 and it has been okay so far. I already have the fittings required if I need to swap out the crappy RedSea valve for a proper gate valve.
