I just received one of these tanks for free but does not have a stand. Its used and been put up for about 2 years. Ive tested and checked everything. Holds water with no leaks and all the silicone seems look really good. Return pump is not working but everything else is working. Is there a replacement skimmer out there that would replace the stock one? Also would you invest $150 in it being that its over 10 years old?

Holding water is a good start. Visually inspect the seems and measure for any bowing. At 43g, there is not massive outward pressure so, although there is some risk, I think the tank will be ok. I’m assuming the $150 is for the return pump and the skimmer upgrade (if not, let us know what is the break down).

If you haven’t already, you may want to search for “Red Sea 130d skimmer upgrade”. Also search eBay for the return pump.
