I love mine. I think they’re worth the money. The only thing I’ve added was a bigger light and an ATO.

Hi champ? Nice clean look. Curious how you upgraded your light? Did you use the Red Sea mount? Did you have the AI or red sea version?
Thank you!

From the picture it appears he's using the standard AI mount that just slightly off-center to the right which would allow it to be clamped on the back glass next to the power center.

I've considered upgrading the light on mine. I'd love to put a RedSea ReefLED 90 on my tank.

Thanks Dragon, that is what I thought too. I bought a xr15 blue thinking I could get some more spread with a panel. I have a Millie off to the side and I don’t thing it’s getting enough light. I think I will need to DYI up a fixture.

For what it’s worth, my brother in law started with a Max Nano a year ago and just upgraded to a 170 he got used. Said he wishes he had just gone that way to begin, as the slightly bigger dimensions (6.5” longer and 2” deeper and taller) really let him play with aquascaping more and he was able to just move all his Nano equipment over (hydra 26, mp10, etc) and it’s appropriate for the slightly larger tank. It’s still a “small” tank and fits where the max nano was. Hope this helps!

You are totally right! I actually won my Nano in a raffle sooo.... I was kinda locked in... I guess I could have sold it but that did not happen. I am thinking strongly about upgrading but trying to justify costs. I was thinking a RS 170, RS 200xl, RS 250, water box 100.3 or RS 300xl.... I guess by buying lights and other things is my way of lessening the single time blow for an upgrade
